There have been a lot of hard lessons to learn in business, but I wanted to talk to you about one I’ve found the hardest to accept…
If you’re anything like me, you probably find that when you come up against a challenge in business, you think:
“I must be doing something wrong because this is too hard.”
But over my many years in business, I’ve finally learned (and accepted!) that the opposite is true. It’s usually hard because you’re doing it right—you’re challenging yourself and your team, stepping into uncharted waters, innovating, and thinking outside the square.
→ These are all signs that you’re doing business WELL. I know it’s a hard juxtaposition to accept, but it’s true.
What I can promise is that no matter how many years you’re in business, the hard times will still come—but they’ll be less frequent.
There are two things that will always help you through tough times:
I have two or three biz besties I can call in those moments and say, “This sucks!” And they’ll always respond with, “Yeah, it does.” Sometimes that’s all you need—validation from someone who truly gets it.
(Side note: I can guarantee you’ll find some wonderful business besties inside
THRIVE.
We kick off April 1 and there are 4 spots still available!)
I bring this up because so often when things get tough, we just keep pushing relentlessly. We don’t stop to evaluate whether our actions are effective—or whether we’re taking care of our physical and mental health. And those are critical steps.
When we skip them, we head straight toward business resentment and burnout city.
I do not want that for you.
That’s why next Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30pm AEDT, I’m hosting a free
Online Masterclass: My 5-Step Framework for Identifying & Overcoming Burnout in Business.
Consider it an act of self-care and come join me!
