I call these three things the downward spiral:
Many of us—especially mothers—experience deep feelings of guilt. We feel guilty when we’re at work, thinking we should be at home. We feel guilty when we leave work early to pick up the kids, while our colleagues stay until 5pm.
Too much guilt often turns into overwhelm. You know that anxious Sunday feeling—when the week ahead already feels impossible? That “How will I make it to Friday?” energy.
When guilt and overwhelm pile up and go unaddressed, they lead straight to burnout. If you’ve been there, you know how debilitating it can be. On the outside, you’re holding it together. On the inside, you’re barely functioning.
This spiral builds fast, and the hardest part is not knowing where to start… or how you’ll ever get back to feeling like yourself again.
The key is learning to recognise the spiral as it’s happening—before it reaches full burnout. Notice those early signs: the guilt, the tension, the Sunday anxiety. And then: know what tools to use to reset.
It took me years to find systems that helped me stop the overwhelm before it consumed me—and now I help other women do the same.
I’ll be teaching these exact tools in my upcoming Guilt Be Gone program, running live on the evenings of July 27 & 28.
If the first half of the year has left you feeling scattered, stretched, or on the edge of burnout—this is your invitation to get back on track.
In this online workshop, you’ll learn how to:
