While preparing to record new podcast content for How To Run A Successful Business (and still have a life!) I was looking back at the analytics of the first 60+ episodes.
Among the Top 5 downloaded episodes there were a few that I expected:
Episode #56: Is it time to outsource?
Episode #38: Goal Setting for the New Year
Episode #49: 3 Things you can do right now to boost your action on socials
Outsourcing, goal setting and marketing are topics I talk about a lot and all have the potential to really move the needle in your business. I’m glad to see they’ve been popular.
But then the other 2 episodes in my top 5 surprised me (although they probably shouldn’t have!)
Episode #42: Balance is BS
Episode #44: Shake off that Mum Guilt
It reminded me that while all of our businesses might be unique, as women we’re collectively facing the same daily battles; nurturing our family, being present for our kids, trying to find time for romance in our relationship, managing staff, somehow taking care of our own health and attempting to catch up with friends from time to time…
If this 👆point of frustration is where you’re finding yourself right now, I see you and I feel you. But let me remind you of one VERY important point….
If you live a life, if you run a business, if you have a family, then you know that everything is not equal. Sometimes things are not fair, things are not going to go our way, we’re going to have different priorities requiring more of our attention at particular times.
Instead, ladies, remember to focus on BLENDING. Life is not going to be perfect every day, so let’s be really intentional with the time we have.
It’s impossible to have an equal amount of time shared between your family, your household duties, running your business and spending time with your partner every single day. But when you spread a good mix of these activities out across a week, and are really present when you’re doing them (instead of being distracted worrying about what else you need to be doing) I think you’ll find your stress levels instantly drop, as will that “mum guilt”!
In case you need to hear it today: You’re doing an INCREDIBLE job.
Be kind to yourself.
