Over the coming weeks I’m going to give you a taste of the key learnings we all received at Simply Business Summit by bringing you my 3 biggest takeaways from each of our presenters.
Before we do that, I’d love to let you know that Simply Business Summit 2023 is going to be held in June in BYRON BAY!
If you’d like to be the first to know when early-bird rates are released, you can jump on the
Wait List here.
(Every attendee from this year’s Summit is already on the 2023 Wait List! 🥳)
Now, back to those key learnings. Let’s get started with Claire O’Shea from Assemblé Dance Studio Coaching who talked to us about all things social media.
My 3 Biggest Social Media Takeaways
Did you know 20% of people’s time on Instagram is spent watching Reels, and video content gets twice as much engagement as static photo content?
That’s not to say photo-based content is dead, but if we want to get any real traction with our social media, then we really need to be making video a part of our regular content.
Can you try for one post a week to be video based?
The most common reasons people shy away from video content is because they think the videos need to be highly-edited and professional, they think they need to dance or lip sync,
or they assume the video has to involve their face. Claire let us know that none of this is actually true!
You can create slides in Canva, add some music and upload it as a reel and that counts as video content! Now that’s something we can all achieve.
If you’ve ever been overwhelmed thinking you need to show up in all the places — Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and so on —
if you’re ever going to be successful, I’ve got great news. You just need to pick two platforms where your ideal clients are most interactive and invest all of your energy there.
Quality over quantity is key. Also be sure to visit and track your social media analytics each month so you know what’s working for you.
You can use these insights to decide the type of content you should invest more energy in creating and sharing.
If this newsletter has prompted you to attempt creating your first Instagram Reel, firstly – YES!!!
And secondly, give me a tag or share the Reel with me so I can continue to cheer you on (and hold you accountable to more video content!).
Next week I’ll be sharing my PR takeaways from publicity queen, Christina Lenkowski.
