Over the past two posts we’ve talked about the first two pillars of success; those being TIME and ENERGY.
The final pillar to discuss together is MONEY.
When I talk about this pillar I’m not doing so in terms of having oodles and oodles of money. I’m not talking about being super rich or having goals about being a billion dollar business person. I’m talking about knowledge.
When I first started running my business, I was completely disinterested in any of the money side of anything. I was interested in the choreography. I was interested in infusing this passion for dance in the students that I had. I was really interested in what the backdrop would be for our first concert. I was not interested in whether people were paying their fees, how much they were going to pay for their fees, who hadn’t paid their fees, what the fees, what the cost and expenses were that were going out of the business.
And I really stuck my head in the sand for a long time in regards to money, which I now regret. But I’ve come a really long way in terms of my understanding when it comes to running my business and that’s flowed over into my life as well now. And especially running a family, that’s as big as ours, I have to be really, really knowledgeable when it comes to the money that we need in order to have the things that we want.
And so I’m not talking about having oodles of money that you need, but I’m talking about knowing how much you need in order to have the lifestyle that you want and then being able to find really smart ways of earning that money and protecting that money so that you can make sure that you can make choices that are going to be great for your family and head you towards that idea of success for you.
So with those three pillars in mind, time, energy, and money, which of them resonated with you the most?
Is there one in particular that you know, that you’re completely across that you’re like, yes, I do know where I’m at and I do get a good sense of how I’m feeling, or is there one that stood out for the opposite reason because you think actually I probably need to do a little bit more deep diving and self reflection on that particular pillar?
Is there something that stood out for you?
I’d absolutely love to hear about it in the comments below.
