Do you feel like you have a lot of business ideas floating around in your head that have never been acted upon?
Are you a dreamer who is always coming up with new projects you could pursue, but then don’t quite get around to seeing them through?
Do you WISH you had the time / money / motivation to make one of these big ideas or projects a reality?
The first step in making this happen actually has nothing to do with money; it’s about reclaiming your motivation and entrepreneurial spirit. I talked about this topic last week on the blog and had so many women reach out and tell me how much it resonated with them; They’re never short of ideas… it’s just taking that next step that holds them back.
So today, let’s take that next step and get your entrepreneurial spirit fired up so you have the motivation to make things happen!
Ask yourself these 3 questions:
What other women can you surround yourself with that are motivating, encouraging, and doing things you aspire to? Bonus points if they’re either in your shoes / stage of life, or have previously been there and can relate!
What motivates you? Does getting your body moving help with your frame of mind? Do you like to get in the kitchen and cook? Do you find starting a particular hobby invigorating? What’s that “thing you need” in life to encourage you to step up?
What can you listen to or read to motivate you?
The idea here is NOT to make you any busier! We’re looking for things we can fit into our current life; listening to a podcast while making dinner, taking the kids to ride their bikes from 4-5pm while you too squeeze in a walk, going to bed 30 mins earlier and reading a book, making a phone call to talk with an inspiring friend or joining a free webinar instead of aimlessly scrolling social media once the kids are in bed… You get the idea.
If you are struggling with the “mum guilt” side of this idea, think about it as modelling for your children what you want for them. As Glennon Doyle says in her fabulous book, Untamed: Motherhood is about modelling. Not martyring.
